LONDON, UK – 9 February, 2024 – Avanade, the leading Microsoft solutions provider and Mangata Networks, a global company offering satellite-enabled connectivity and intelligent edge computing solutions, have entered a strategic partnership. This will see the design, build and implementation of a Microsoft Azure-based edge services solution integrated into Mangata’s cutting-edge satellite, IoT and AI offerings.
The partnership will enable the creation of Mangata’s cloud network service that combines seamless connectivity with intelligent edge and cloud computing, bringing Azure services to customers around the globe. The proprietary, scalable network will be powered by a multi-orbit constellation of HEO (highly elliptical orbit) and MEO (medium Earth orbit) satellites and a terrestrial network of edge data centers.
Working in collaboration with Microsoft, the solution will combine Microsoft’s generative AI and data analytics capabilities, edge management and security services with Mangata’s unique satellite constellation to power edge advanced AI, IoT and 5G services.
With powerful edge compute and data management capabilities, protected by integrated, market leading security services, customers can host workloads remotely and process data where it is created, reducing latency and time-to-insight by hosting advanced analytics and AI-inferencing at the edge.
Mangata and Avanade will develop services to automate the deployment, monitoring and management of applications hosted at the edge, integrating with Microsoft AI and hybrid management services to minimize human intervention, providing customers and partners with light touch automated deployment and remote management.
Valuable data, previously discarded due to lack of available bandwidth, can now be sent to cloud services like Microsoft Fabric. This provides unified access to all the data and analytics tools that organizations need and can be used to train and retrain AI models to yield deeper operational insights. For highly regulated organizations and governments, and for geographies with strict data sovereignty rules, applications can process sensitive data at the edge, keeping it within national or regional boundaries and only sending what is allowed to the public cloud.
These capabilities will enable Mangata partners and customers to securely host and remotely manage applications in locations with limited connectivity, with satellite links providing ongoing connectivity to the Microsoft cloud and Internet. It will provide a compelling market solution through a secure, turnkey, AI-enabled computing and communications environment at a competitive price. This will allow support of multiple customer scenarios, including latency sensitive or bandwidth intensive application workloads, 5G private networks, IoT management, predictive monitoring, backup resilience or high bandwidth connectivity.
