About the role

The Electrical Engineering Director, reporting directly to the Engineering VP, is responsible for coordination, planning and execution of electrical engineering aspects of the Satellite design, development, assembly, integration and test while supporting the Manufacture and Test Operations and Mission Operations departments in achieving a quality, elegant technical solution.  The role will be permanently based in Denver, Colorado with moderate domestic and international travel.

Requirements for the role


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering,

  • Considerable relevant Engineering Management experience on at least two Space flight development programs,

  • Substantial relevant experience of Space flight program design, development, assembly, integration, test and flight operations experience,

  • Multiple demonstrable conflict resolution experiences from technical, programmatic, personnel and overt lessons learned.

  • Demonstration of successfully managing teams in excess of 40 persons at all levels of engineering discipline and experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with

  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering,

  • Demonstrated specific technical management experience with a Commercial Telecommunications Space development program.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action process to achieve a quality, elegant, effective way forward.



You will be responsible for


  • Intimate coordination, planning and execution of electrical engineering aspects of the Satellite design, development, assembly, integration and test

  • Actively managing schedule and budgetary aspects of the Electrical Engineering group for the Space Systems organization.

  • Humbly providing engineering leadership in terms of technical knowledge and direction as well as ensuring the career growth and opportunity for team members.

  • Objectively determining requirements for overall system to survive lifetime requirements in application environments.

  • Optimizing design for performance vs cost (manufacture, assembly, test, materials, mass, & thermal performance to meet lifetime reliability).

  • Rigorous oversite and guidance of the development, implementation and enforcement of processes and procedures across mechanical engineering disciplines.
